Unico Espresso tasting pack

The name “Unico” stands for uniqueness – and that is exactly what this espresso taster set embodies: an exclusive selection of absolutely first-class blends of the highest quality, all born out of a deep devotion to the traditional Italian art of roasting. Whether traditionally Bolognese, roasted over Sicilian olive wood, or refined with fine Jamaica Blue Mountain, all three coffees combine the highest premium quality, artisanal perfection, and a love for the Italian roasting tradition. A harmonious taste experience with a full body, dreamy crema, and intense notes of chocolate, nuts, and delicate fruits. A delightful trio that shows how multifaceted and seductive real top-quality espresso can be.

2004 Duemilaquattro with Jamaica Blue Mountain

Our definition of espresso perfection

Duemilaquattro – the name says it all. It stands for the year 2004, the year Espresso International was founded. After 21 years, we are crowning our passion with our first signature blend.

In close collaboration with our exclusive premium partner La Genovese, we have created an espresso that combines everything we love about coffee. At its heart are fine, complex Arabicas, complemented by a proportion of first-class Robusta beans – for strength and character without being overpowering. This composition is rounded off with 5% Jamaica Blue Mountain, which provides incomparable depth and silky sweetness. The result is a multifaceted interplay of aromas, supported by an elegant structure and a dense, finely marbled crema.

The character: medium roast, typically Italian, yet particularly low in acidity.

Why Duemilaquattro / 2004? Espresso has been our life since 2004. With this proprietary roast, we bring together two decades of experience and genuine craftsmanship. Alessandro and Matteo Borea have perfectly realized our vision of a dream espresso—a quality that can be felt in the balance, mouthfeel, and crema with every sip.

The flavor profile The first impression is captivating, with notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, and caramel, accompanied by roasted almonds. This is followed by fruity nuances of red apple, apricot, and dried fruit. A hint of vanilla and honey rounds off the experience and ensures a long finish. Jamaica Blue Mountain adds an elegant accent that wonderfully underscores the natural sweetness of the coffee.

The body is full, silky, and perfectly balanced. Thanks to the very low acidity, the intense notes are soft and harmoniously integrated. As a pure espresso, the Duemilaquattro impresses with its clarity and texture, while in milk drinks the chocolate and nut aromas come through powerfully. The finish is long-lasting and elegant: caramel and almond meet honey and a subtle fruitiness.

Why the name “Duemilaquattro”? It is the Italian word for 2004. This is our way of honoring the year we were founded and emphasizing our deep connection to Italian coffee culture.

Why an Italian name and roasting in Italy? As a German specialist retailer, we have been fully committed to Italian espresso since 2004. It was only logical for us to choose a partner who lives this tradition locally and whose expertise meets our high standards.

Does Jamaica Blue Mountain really make a difference? Definitely. It tips the scales—it's the decisive nuance that transforms a very good espresso into a true masterpiece.

Filicori Zecchini Espresso Kavé

The art of roasting perfected in Bologna

The story of Filicori Zecchini began in Bologna in 1919, when two friends, Aldo Filicori and Luigi Zecchini, turned their shared passion into a profession. Today, more than 100 years later, the company is still firmly in family hands and is now run by the third generation. It has remained true to tradition: the beans are refined in the classic Italian style. This means that each variety is roasted separately, slowly and particularly gently in a rotating drum and then gently cooled in the air.

The taste experience: Kavè Blend For the Kavè Blend, the beans are medium-dark roasted, which brings out an intense, chocolatey aroma. These aromas also characterize the taste: enjoy pronounced notes of chocolate and hazelnut, carried by a full body. A 10% proportion of Robusta beans provides the visual highlight – a lush, velvety crema with a fine tiger stripe pattern that crowns this espresso.

Certified top quality Experts also confirm that this is an exceptional coffee: in 2014, Espresso Kavè was awarded the gold medal at the “International Coffee Tasting.” It also bears the strictly tested seal of the INEI (Instituto Nazionale Espresso Italiano). This institute has been protecting and promoting genuine Italian espresso since 1998 – and thanks to its outstanding quality, Kavè is officially allowed to call itself “Espresso Italiano.”

Tre Forze Espresso

Sicilian primal power from the fire of Mount Etna

TRE FORZE! is a pioneer in Sicily that has revived an almost forgotten craft: roasting over real olive wood. The wood used comes from the groves around Mount Etna and is dried for at least twelve months. As the olive trees thrive on mineral-rich lava soil, the wood stores valuable substances that develop a unique, aromatic smoke when burned. The direct contact of the flame with the beans creates an unmistakable espresso experience that embodies the wild soul of Sicily.

Quality and care form the basis for this masterpiece. The exact recipe is a closely guarded secret, but it is known that TRE FORZE! uses only select premium beans from the best highlands in the world. A small, carefully measured proportion of high-quality Robusta beans refines the first-class Arabicas. These beans are roasted extremely gently and slowly over an open fire for 20 to 30 minutes until they reach their perfect point.

The result of this passionate work is revealed in the cup: a thick, velvety crema crowns the espresso. Its aroma seduces with notes of dried dates, dark chocolate, and fine macadamia nuts. On the palate, it is intense and delicately spicy, yet surprisingly smooth. Thanks to the gentle roasting process, the coffee has a low caffeine content and is low in tannins and bitter compounds, which makes it particularly smooth.
