Lucaffé – Coffee with Heart
Expertise, innovation, and especially passion are the qualities that make Lucaffé a quality roaster. Founded in the mid-90s in Padenghe sul Garda, on Lake Garda, by Luca Venturelli, a young entrepreneur from Brescia, Lucaffé quickly grew into a competitive and renowned roasting company thanks to Venturelli’s unique sixth sense for coffee.
From the very beginning, the founder—who still leads the company today—has overseen all stages, from roasting to grinding, packaging, and finally shipping to customers. It is this hands-on approach that sets Lucaffé apart and has contributed to its strong reputation!
Lucaffé – The Perfect Balance of Aroma and Taste
Lucaffé blends offer a delicate, smooth taste with a characteristic chocolatey aroma and the scent of freshly baked bread. Only the finest beans are selected for these blends.
Each time new raw materials arrive, the blend is recalibrated and carefully tested. This method is the most costly and complex but ensures consistently excellent quality.
All varieties are personally tested and selected by Mr. Venturelli, ensuring high quality, a well-balanced blend, and excellent packaging.
The roasting process is very slow to avoid significant temperature fluctuations. The oils and fats in the beans never reach high temperatures, allowing only the best substances to develop, making the coffee more digestible and healthier.
Lucaffé, the Godfather of Italian Roasting
“I’ll offer you a coffee dream you can’t refuse!”
These words, adapted from the iconic film The Godfather, perfectly summarize the distinct and bold aroma that reaches the palate thanks to Lucaffé—a roaster that, from the very packaging, conveys a precise and targeted philosophy. Family spirit, meticulousness, attention to detail, and a deep care for the most important raw ingredient in Italian culinary tradition—the coffee bean—are all woven into the Lucaffé ethos. An almost obsessive focus on presentation crowns it all. The colorful and eye-catching packaging varieties act like charismatic characters, drawing attention and evoking warmth and quality. Lucaffé products are now widely recognized, even beyond Italian borders.
Der Pate (The Godfather), Mamma Lucia, Piccolo, and Dolce are three different product lines, all available and sold on our online shop, together embodying the Lucaffé spirit—meticulous care in both production and presentation. The finely crafted illustrations on each package, whether showing a couple or two children embracing, underscore Lucaffé’s commitment to beautiful packaging.
A Gentle Production That Cherishes Coffee
What sets a company apart, especially a roasting company, and allows it to excel in quality and prestige, is its attention to detail, an integral part of production and professional growth.
Lucaffé has distinguished itself from the start, with its spirit of continuous innovation, fully respecting the centuries-old tradition of processing raw materials, and taking exceptional care with the beans from start to finish.
If you explore Lucaffé’s history and philosophy on its official website, you’ll find that Gian Luca Venturelli himself oversees bean selection and quality control, often visiting plantations and producers to assess their work.
Quality requires time to maintain but can be lost in an instant. That’s why beans—whether traditional varieties or the richer, prized Jamaica Blue Mountain—are transported in small wooden barrels, preserving their aroma for longer and in the best possible way.
Roasting and blending then result from the roaster’s meticulous research, aiming to create coffee capable of satisfying even the most refined palates. This way, roasted blends reach cups worldwide, delivering maximum flavor and the finest aroma possible.
“Al nostro caffè, noi teniamo molto. Chi ci conosce se ne accorge quotidianamente.”
“We care deeply about our coffee. Those who know us notice this daily.”
These words, found on Lucaffé’s official website in the “Nostro caffè” section, reflect how quality is a cornerstone of Lucaffé—not only in coffee selection, production, and transport but also in packaging and accessories.
Not Just Beans: A Space for Pods
In its modern workshop in Carpenedolo (Brescia), Gian Luca Venturelli has specialized in producing coffee pods, which are gaining market popularity.
Individually packaged for aroma preservation, Lucaffé pods contain just the right amount of roasted and ground coffee. They can be light and creamy or strong and intense, depending on bean quality and roasting. Let yourself be charmed by Mr. Exclusive’s flavor, offering an espresso according to the best Italian tradition, with a very smooth taste, full body, and excellent crema. Or enjoy the Decaf’s delicate, creamy, and aromatic flavor. Whether in pods or beans, Lucaffé’s flavor remains fresh, as if freshly roasted, even months after packaging.
Lucaffé’s E.S.E pods care not only about flavor but also about the environment. In 2020, Lucaffé decided to invest in the eco-friendly, sustainable market to help preserve the planet. Compostable and suitable for organic waste, the “Made in Venturelli” pods show Lucaffé’s commitment to the environment.
Today, Lucaffé also relies on the expertise and support of La Piccola, a company that produces and distributes exclusive paper-pod espresso machines. Thanks to the synergy of these elements, Lucaffé has established itself on the international market, achieving impressive results while maintaining the quality of traditional Italian artisanal roasting.
A Cup for Every Taste
You know, the eye also needs its share of enjoyment. Presentation and first impressions are crucial in every field, especially in marketing. In these cases, the quality of the product, good or bad, becomes secondary: if the consumer isn’t attracted at first glance, they may not connect with the product, and the sale may be lost.
“Even good stories deserve embellishment.”
So says Ian McKellen as the wizard Gandalf in The Hobbit. It’s the same in business, which is why Lucaffé pays close attention to packaging, showcasing its blends with the utmost care. Cups and mugs, glasses, napkins and napkin rings, trays, sugar sachets—there are many ways to enhance the product. On our online shop, you can explore and purchase Lucaffé accessories across various categories, with particular attention to the delicate yet fascinating world of cups.
What truly sets Lucaffé apart is the presence of a perfect cup for each coffee variety produced. From general options available in colors like red, black, yellow, and orange to more detailed designs for Mr. Exclusive (available only in black and white) and Blucaffè with sea-colored decorations, each line has its accessory to allow customers to fully enjoy the experience—whether at the table with friends or at a bar before heading to work or university. Because, as we said, the pleasure of coffee is “an offer you can’t refuse.”
