Improper treatment of these delicate, then expensive luxury goods often resulted in inedible, burnt coffee. Julius Meinl developed a new process for gently roasting green coffee beans. This allowed him to consistently offer high quality and open Vienna's first store for perfectly roasted coffee beans, as we know it today.

It was during this time that the famous logo was created, modernized in 2004 by renowned designer Matteo Thun, the 5th generation of the Meinl family. It's fascinating to see how this traditional brand has evolved over the years and adapted to the changing tastes.
