Tamper (Premium Line) - Runa Kona Walnut - Hauck
High-quality Premium Line Tamper in 58.4 mm size
This is our best tamper yet! With over 30 years of expertise and the use of the highest quality materials, the Hauck team, led by founder Otto Hauck, creates true masterpieces. The mission of this Austrian family firm is to offer coffee lovers the best accessories on the market. The "Rune Kona Nut Tamper" from the Premium line is further proof of this.
What makes this Tamper different?
It belongs to the Premium line, which is characterised by particularly noble raw materials and a perfect finish. No unsightly marks, a firm grip and perfect ergonomics. The main advantage is that "Rune" coffee tampers fit perfectly in every hand. The tampers in the Premium line can be considered luxury products of the highest level, and this is evident from the first glance and even more so after you've used them. Another special feature of Hauck tampons is that many components, including the stainless steel base, come directly from the same production region, Austria. This means sustainability for the company.
Materials and use
The ergonomic handle on this tamper is made from polished solid walnut. A section of lighter wood has been inserted into the handle, providing an aesthetic element. The lower part, with its flat base, is made from hand-turned stainless steel. The materials and their meticulous finish create a low, balanced centre of gravity that makes this accessory easy to use. With a total weight of 480 g, the Rune Kona tamper is one of the heaviest in our range. However, this weight makes handling it, and therefore 'pressing' the coffee grinds, child's play. Squeezing has never been so much fun. Simple, discreet and yet so perfect, this incredibly attractive tamper will be the highlight of your kitchen. It will enhance the whole coffee-making experience and make every break unforgettable.
How do I use the tamper correctly?
The term "tamping" refers to compacting the coffee grounds in the filter holder. The aim is to pack a disc of coffee as smoothly and evenly as possible. This is important so that the hot water can flow out evenly. The best way to use it is to position the press perpendicularly from above and press it down using a gentle rotary movement. The rotary movement at the end ensures that the surface of the ground coffee is evenly distributed. Again, this takes practice and practice. However, if you want to achieve a perfect and absolutely impeccable espresso beyond your capabilities, you'll find your happiness with this coffee tamper from Hauck.
