We wanted to introduce you to our very first coffee from the traditional roasting company Cafés Richard. We discovered it in a small Italian restaurant during a stay in Paris. We liked the espresso so much that when we got back to our offices in Hamburg, we immediately wanted to contact the roasting company. Only then did we learn about the long history and tradition of Cafés Richard.

The famous "Maison Richard" was founded by Auguste and Pierre Fayel in 1892. Their cousin, Henri Richard, bought the business shortly afterwards and, with his son André, transformed it from a wine business into a full-fledged coffee roasting company. An unwavering passion for coffee and the desire to roast the perfect bean have led the Richard family to create ever more original blends. Meticulous roasting and close cooperation with coffee growers around the world have led Cafés Richard to success. But it's not just their history that appeals to us, it's the fact that they roast what we consider to be the best coffee in France.

Our absolute favourite is Florio. Not only does it have distinctive packaging, it also has a distinctive flavour profile. Florio is the only Maison Richard coffee to be roasted using the classic Italian method. Among other things, this guarantees a pleasantly low-acid espresso. The blend is made from 100% Arabica beans hand-picked in Central and South America and Africa. They are very delicate in taste, but get a strong/pronounced note from the Italian roasting. For us, this is the perfect blend for discerning palates. Mellow and with delicate notes of dark chocolate, Florio will spoil any coffee lover. Despite its delicacy, its aromas are nonetheless intense and refined. The final touch, at the end of the tasting, is very conclusive thanks to notes of toast and even a hint of caramel and liquorice.

Cafés Richard is also the first French roaster to have been awarded the "CSR Commitment Europe" label and the "AFNOR Responsibility Label". These associations recognise companies - carefully selected - that assume social responsibility in their field, environment and distinguish themselves by treating customers, employees, business partners and coffee growers fairly.

- 7g of ground coffee per cup
- Ideal extraction temperature between 90 and 95°C
- Pressure of 9 bars
- Ideal extraction time 25 sec.
- 25-30 ml of ground coffee per cup
