How is this tamper used correctly?
The tamper is the tool used to press the coffee powder for espresso preparation. It is placed on the filter holder and a firm, prolonged pressure is applied here. It is important to ensure that it is positioned correctly and that it is pressed straight down, so that it creates a smooth surface. This ensures that the hot water passes through the ground coffee at a constant speed and thus at an even pressure. This is how you get a balanced espresso.
